How mach was was 360 pounds equal to in the 1930s?

I'm playing a video game, and there was something about a man borrowing 60 pounds from his wives bank account of 366 pounds, and the game is based in the 1930's. This seemed strange to me at first, not news worthy by the least because that is although a substantial amount of money, its nothing to brag about nor to be put in a news paper, but as I said, it was in the 1930s, so obviously it is going to worth quite a bit more now.
