Can funnel cake mix really go bad?

I have a package of Haldeman Mills Dutch Funnel Cake Mix that has been sitting in our pantry for awhile now. I was going to make it but when I looked on the bottom of the package it said March 08 2006. I was wanting to know if the mix can really go bad? I have used dry ingredients like this before when they were expired and everything turned out just fine but I wasn't sure if funnel cake mix was different.
