My hitachi tv has no sound and no picture but has power light on?

I have a hitachi flat panel tv hdtv it is about 6 years old.it has the power light on and if you unplug it and plug it back in you can hear it click like the power is coming on.. but there is no picture and no sound any body have any ideas what it could be thank you for your help
